The REDARC Smart Start® SBI12D is a microprocessor-controlled dual battery isolator designed for use in a dual battery system. This solenoid priority system safeguards the start battery from excessive discharge while enabling the auxiliary battery to power non-essential loads. Featuring 12 volt DC and a continuous rating of 100A, the SBI12D is built for heavy-duty applications.

The SBI12D is a dual sensing model with a compact design for easy installation. It effectively isolates the start and auxiliary battery, allowing the auxiliary battery to be charged by an external source while ensuring the start battery can also be charged once the auxiliary battery reaches 13.2V. The unit incorporates power saving technology with fault detection and LED indication, alerting users to voltage drops, over-voltage, or excessive current draw conditions.

This isolator is equipped with components to prevent high voltage transients, offering better performance than traditional diode battery isolators in terms of voltage drop. The SBI12D is fully surge protected and is commonly used in 4WD and commercial vehicles.
